Nehru College of Pharmacy successfully organized an *Awareness Program on the Provisions of the Transgender (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019 and Rules 2020 for Pharmacy Professionals* on 4th June 2025 at the Brahmagupta Auditorium, Nehru Campus. The event was *inaugurated by Shri U. R. Pradeep, Hon’ble MLA of Chelakkara*, and featured sessions by distinguished speakers including Dr. L. Ramakrishnan, Vice President, SAATHII; Ms. SwethaShri, Regional Programme Specialist, SAATHII, Chennai; Ms. Swathika Saji, Administration, Sahayatrika, Thrissur; Ms. Uthara Shiju, Advocate, Queer Community; and Mr. Yadhav SR, Advocacy Coordinator, Sahayatrika. The programme also witnessed the presence of Dr. R. Gowri, Director – Research, Ranking & Accreditations, NGIK; Prof. Dr. D. VijayKumar, Principal, NCP; and Mr. M. Srinivas, Administrative Manager, NCP, along with Vice Principal and all faculty members and students. The college organized this programme in collaboration with the Department of Social Justice, Ministry of India. Representatives from organizations like SAATHII and Sahayatrika shared insights on the challenges faced by transgender individuals, as well as their rights and the legal protections available to them.
