Eligibility For Admission

Academic

B.Pharm:

Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala or examinations recognized asequivalent thereto, with 50 marks in Biology/Mathematics/Biotechnology/Computer Science separately and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology /Mathematics /Biotechnology/Computer Science put together are eligible.

Candidates from National Open School are not eligible to apply for the course.

Pharm. D:

(a) Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala or examinationsrecognized as equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Biology/ Mathematics separately and 50% marks in Physics ,Chemistry and Biology/Mathematics put together are eligible.

OR

(b) A pass in D.Pharm. Course with a minimum of50% marks in D. Pharm. examination from an institution approved by Pharmacy Council of India under Section 12 ofthe Pharmacy Act (3) Any other qualification approved by the Pharmacy Council of India as equivalent to any of the aboveexaminations.

D.Pharm:

A pass in any of the following examinations with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Mathematics: i)Intermediate examination in science; ii) the first year of three year degree course in science; iii) 10+2examination (academic stream) in science; iv)plus two examination; or  v)any other qualificationsapproved by PCI as equivalent to any of the above examinations

NB: However candidates who have passed their qualifying examination from outside the state of Kerala shallproduce the certificate of recognition and equivalency of qualifying  examination from Kerala University ofHealth Sciences, Thrissur. This should be furnished at the time of admission Eligibility for admission to thecandidates belonging to OBC.OEC.SC/ST will be as per the requirements of the D.ME .

Relaxation in marks:

For all the courses, candidates belonging to Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (as per G.O. (P) No. 208/66/Edn dated 02.05.1966, GO(MS) No. 10/2014/BCDD dated: 23.05.2014, GO (P) No. 1/2015/BCDD dated: 01.01.2015 and amendments thereof), will have a relaxation of 5% marks in the qualifying examination. They need only 45% marks in the case of Mathematics/Biology and 45% marks in the case of Mathematics/Biology, Physics and Chemistry put together. The Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes candidates need only a pass in the qualifying examination. However, for admission to MBBS/BDS courses, candidates belonging to SC/ST categories need 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology put together in the qualifying examination. Candidates eligible for PD quota as per MCI guidelines, need only 45% marks in case of Biology/Biotechnology and 45% marks in case of optional subjects put together for admission to MBBS/BDS courses (as per the Guidelines of Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India). The candidates belonging to PD category will have a relaxation of 5 % marks in the qualifying examination for Engineering/Architecture/Pharmacy and Medical Allied Courses. They need only 45 % marks in the case of Mathematics/Biology and 45 % marks in the case of Mathematics/Biology, Physics and Chemistry put together. Provided that in cases where only grades are given for qualifying examination and marks are not mentioned, the grade covering 45% marks will be considered as criterion for eligibility. The relaxation in marks in the Qualifying Examinations available to SEBC and PD Candidates will not be applicable to the admissions under Management Quota in Private Self Financing Engineering Colleges/Government Controlled Self Financing Engineering Colleges. Biotechnology will not be considered for the courses for academic eligibility as specified in clauses 6.2.1 (a) (ii), 6.2.1 (a) (iv) & 6.2.1 (b). Optional subjects are the subjects specified in Clauses 6.2.1, 6.2.2 & 6.2.3 for the respective courses.

The relaxation of marks in the qualifying examination extended to SEBC candidates only will be applicable to OEC candidates even if they are allotted against the unavailed seats of SC/ST quota. Also refer clause 5.4.3 (f).

(i) Candidates who have appeared for the Higher Secondary or equivalent examination will be permitted to take the Entrance Examinations provisionally. The candidates should have appeared for the qualifying examination before taking the Entrance Examination. Such candidates should prove their academic eligibility on the date of admission.

(ii) Candidates who have qualified in the Engineering Entrance Examination should submit their qualifying examination marks online through the Official website of the CEE (www.cee.kerala.gov.in) and upload the mark list of final year of the qualifying examination within the stipulated time.

* Candidates referred to in Clause 6.2.1(c) who have only appeared or are appearing for the BSc. Degree Examination, are not eligible to apply as per Clause 6.2.6.

* No rounding off of the percentage of marks to the nearest whole number is permitted. For example, a score of 50 marks out of 100 or 150 marks out of 300 alone will be considered as 50% marks and scores of 45 out of 100 or 135 out of 300 alone will be considered as 45% marks for determining eligibility.

Age

Applicants should have completed 17 years of age as on the 31st December 2019. No relaxation in the minimum age will be allowed. There is no upper age limit for Engineering, Architecture and B.Pharm Courses. For Medical and Allied courses, the upper age limit will be as per the Information Bulletin of NEET(UG)-2019.

Candidates must be citizen of India.

The College has the right to cancel the admission made if any of the certificates submitted is found false or the qualification of the candidate admitted is not approved by University, Coimbatore.
